All my Custom German License Plates are $44 no matter what color or how many letters. Mounting Frames and Screws are optional.

How fast do you ship my Euro Plate?

Most orders will ship by UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail daily.

Please note my daily cutoff time is 3PM Eastern Time. Orders received after that time will ship the next business day.

What is the quality of your Custom German Plates like?

I use the same premium aluminum license plate blanks as a license plate shop in Germany. Each German Plate is pressed and the color is hot stamped for durability.

What size are European Plates?

All European License Plates are standardized 20.5 x 4.5 inches or 520 x 110 mm.

Will your Custom Euro Plates fit my vehicle?

All you need is two holes in your front bumper to safely attach one of our mounting frames with screws. Buying an optional frame saves you from drilling holes into the Custom Euro Plate. If your car does not have holes in the front bumper please get help from a local dealership.

What does the D stand for on a German license plate?

The D is the Country Code for Deutschland / Germany. The code D is embedded in the blue side bar underneath the circled yellow stars representing the European Union Flag.

Other European Countries have their respective letter shown, A for Austria, F for France, NL for the Netherlands etc.

What does a German plate look like?

Standard Euro License Plates have black letters on white reflective background using a forgery-impeding typeface. Its letters and numbers are disproportionate to avoid simple modification. The german plate number is printed next to the blue band including the 12 euro stars and the country code D underneath.

How do you read the codes on German License Plates?

The first one to three letters represents the city or county the vehicle is registered in, followed by the inspection and registrations stickers and finally the serial number containing 1-2 letters and 1-4 numbers. A german plate from Berlin would read B-XY 1234.

More in-depth information about the History of German Plates and German License Plate Codes can be found here in this fantastic article on Wikipedia.

What is the EU blue stripe, and when was it introduced?

The blue stripe (left side: 12 gold EU stars + country code CY/D/F/I) became mandatory in 1994 via EU Framework Directive 1998/17/EC. Pre-1994 plates lacked this band, showing only national designs. Enables instant cross-border vehicle recognition across 27 EU nations.

How to read a European license plate?

Reading left to right: Blue EU stripe with country code → Personalized Letter-Number Combination. For example, "F-AB 1234" indicates a French plate, "I-XYZ 789" indicates Italian, and so on. Each country has its own authentic format.

What does a custom European license plate look like?

European plates have a white reflective background with black FE-Schrift font and follow the format: Country code in EU blue band + personalized letters/numbers (maximum 14 characters combined). Plates measure 520mm × 110mm and use the official FE-Schrift font across the European Union.

Can I have a personalized plate in Europe?

In most European Union countries, vehicles must display the official government-issued license plates both at the front and rear of the car. Decorative or replica plates are generally not allowed to replace these official plates while driving on public roads. We always recommend checking with your local vehicle registration authority to understand what is legally allowed in your area.

Why are European license plates so long?

European plates are usually long because this is to accommodate country codes, city codes, registration numbers, and the EU blue stripe (12 stars + CY/D/F/I). Even with the long, standardized size, all of our plates can fit most bumpers and ensure readability at highway speeds across 27 EU countries.

Which European country has yellow license plates?

The Netherlands and Luxembourg use all-yellow plates (front/rear). France: Yellow rear, white front. UK territories (Gibraltar, Jersey): White front/yellow rear. Most EU countries switched to white-only post-1994 standardization.

Can you have European license plates in the US?

In states that do not require a front license plate, you can usually display a custom European plate on the front of your vehicle. In states that require both front and rear plates, you must use the official plate in both positions while driving on public roads. In those areas, European plates are only best used for car shows, photos, or display purposes. Always check your local vehicle laws to stay compliant.

How do European license plates differ by country?

Despite EU standardization, each country maintains unique formatting: Germany (city codes like M=Munich), Italy (red provincial seals), France (yellow rear plates), and Sweden (county numbers). All still share a 520×110mm size, FE-Schrift font, and blue EU stripe with country codes (D/F/I/NL).
